Writer: Helena Bergström
It's Friday again! This week there has been both a lot and a little happening on our front - we are at home while working on various projects.
Table of contents
A recurring photo subject
”Aren't you going to photograph the castle again?” Peter asks, laughing, and then do I do. I wonder how many photos I actually have of Karlberg Castle? Probably many ... But the castle is beautiful and we often pass it during our walks, on one side or the other of the Karlberg Canal. Right now the castle is surrounded by snow ...

Projects that take time and energy
We have several projects underway right now, which take lots of time and energy. These are very fun projects, but that doesn't mean it's easy all the time. On the contrary! Sometimes we pull our hair out a bit... There are many meetings, many discussions and many emails. Sometimes we get tired and fall asleep in the middle of the day. Other times, ideas and energy are flowing. A little up and down, that's all...!
Great response to the ”travelling in the past” post
By the way, it was great that our report on ”15 things you did while travelling before your phone took over” was so positively received. Massor of comments and personal stories about travelling in the past - I promise it has been fun, entertaining and sometimes nostalgic to read. Thank you for your commitment!
Favourite dishes and great TV shows
When we take time off from work, it's all about cooking and watching TV. Some favourite dishes this week: Beef Rydberg and meatballs in tomato sauce. So delicious! Sometimes Peter has also made homemade deep-fried chips on various root vegetables. Yum!
TV series ...? We subscribe to Apple TV now and we've seen a whole bunch of series that we like: Slow Horses (British spy drama with black humour), Pachinko (great South Korean family epic), Tehran (spy thriller with Mossad in the heart of Iran) and Hijack (American entertaining hijack drama). Right now we are watching Prime Target - a great thriller revolving around maths geniuses.

This week: Grateful for ...
This week we are grateful to have taken a few more steps forward with the projects we are working on. We are also grateful that Peter's check-up at the eye doctor did not show any deterioration. Peter's heart-shaped root vegetables symbolise the positive...!
Your turn ... What are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
We are still at home in our houseboat during the week, and have nothing booked except work, meetings and possibly some socialising with friends.
Here on FREEDOMtravel you can expect, among other things, a continuation of Anna's report on Mali (you have read part 1 which starts in the capital Bamako?) mixed with some other things ... Have a great Friday and weekend!

I'm thankful that we didn't get nearly as much snow as they did in other places. (It's snowing now though) Then I'm thankful that the side effects Maken got from his treatment have passed now.
Have a nice weekend!

I can't believe it's been a week again! Here we are grateful that the storms Ingrid and Kristin have passed and that we have done well where we have been sitting up in the small village of Salir. Now we hope the winds will decrease even more and that the rains will not be as frequent so we can continue to enjoy the days down here...
Have a nice weekend!

Steak rydberg which is so good, I would like to eat it. I'll just make sure I get well first, I've been ill since Tuesday. We who are invited to the granddaughter's 15th birthday party and Sunday dinner, as it looks now, we have to say no to it, sad. Have a nice weekend to you.

Grateful for? A lot of things. Not least living in Stockholm, on the waterfront and on Söder and surrounded by everything Stockholm can offer. Not least in culture of various kinds that is easily accessible... Likewise, I am happy to be able to easily get around the city using good transport or walking. Friends and meeting them is also important. And not least that I ”own” my time . The fact that I also have some work in different areas is also something I am both happy and grateful for.

Of course it is wonderful to live in Stockholm, with proximity to both water and culture, we also appreciate that! 🙂 It sounds nice to ”own your time” but also to have a little different assignments! Wishes all the best!

Also noticed that your post on 1990s style travel habits was very popular. I also loved the post. You are an incredibly talented writer and write engagingly. If I had to wish for something, I would probably want more such posts: -)
Yes, Peter really is a master chef. I think I'll get that grunt to make vegetables more visually appealing. I'm not really a fan of vegetables...
The meatballs in tomato sauce are an old Jamie Oliver classic:-)

Hehe, I also have several pictures of the same subject. Although it is something I am close to and see often ....
I am grateful that my body has coped so well with my increased amount of exercise. I am also grateful for all the good things in my life.

Karlberg Castle is really so nice, understand that you take more photos of it!
Yum with Biff Rydberg, why haven't I cooked it? Thanks for the tip!
Of course you have a lot to be grateful for, but this week I have been ill with a terrible cough, grateful that my husband has been able to buy throat lozenges, nasal spray and the like, and now I am slowly but surely on the mend!
Have a nice weekend!

There are probably many people who can't help but take photos of the same subject, many photos bring back memories, even if it's the same subject, at least that's how it is for me.
Karlsberg castle is really so beautiful where it is located by the canal, I also have some photos of it. You brought back the memory of a picture at dawn where it reflects so nicely in the water, I was probably standing in about the same place as you did when you took this.
I am grateful that I can live here in my paradise, and that my body continues to function so I can be outside and enjoy what makes me happy.

Hey, hey, hey, hey,
I understand that you take photos of the castle. I would have done that too. Every time. I love walking in Stockholm's environments, and every time I daydream about living in the middle of the city centre in a cozy apartment and then take nice walks and enjoy everything every day. Before the mobile phone, I took photos as diligently as now but with a shock pink Konica Pop. I worked as a flight attendant and have so many photo albums at home filled with memories from all the trips. We also read and exchanged weekly newspapers with each other. I remember long stops where the entire aircraft crew, including the captain and first officer, had all read my Swedish Women's magazine, several times 🙂 Fun memories. Exciting with projects. Good luck to you.
Rummage,
Anneli
