Today we want to wish you a really happy midsummer! Are you celebrating at home, in the countryside, with friends... or maybe on the road? We don't have big plans, but that's okay... being on the road with the camper feels really nice!

A hectic period
The last period has been hectic for us. I mean the last few weeks, but I could refers to the last few years. Well, if we stick to the last few weeks, we have been busy with various projects and collaborations, as well as an intensive trip to Germany.
We visited four cities in Germany in four days – all cities are highly recommended, but we also highly recommend a little more time…! Here you can read about charming Hildesheim and student city of Göttingen – two destinations that are well suited to discovering by train, car or camper.
We have also concluded the competition for a trip to Tunisia. Among all those who competed, a small number guessed correctly and among these, the Tunisian Tourist Office drew a winner. We say a big CONGRATULATIONS to Leona, who received a notification by email!

We wish you a Happy Midsummer
We now wish you a truly happy Midsummer, regardless of whether you celebrate at home, in the countryside, with friends, on a trip... or whether you are perhaps working or not doing anything special.

This is how we celebrate Midsummer
So, how are we celebrating? We just managed to get away on this year's motorhome trip, and we are happy about it. We haven't had time to plan any further than that. Just yesterday we had video meetings with partners and we haven't even had time to clean the camper yet... But we are on a roll and we are happy with it!
We don't have huge plans for Midsummer, but we have new potatoes, herring and gravlax in the camper... so it's Midsummer then!
We think the Swedish Midsummer celebration is nice, even though sometimes there is more and sometimes there is less of a celebration. Please read more about Midsummer here:

This week: Grateful for ...
What we're grateful for? Well, that we've left with the camper! There was a lot of hassle and stress before we left (I can't even go into everything, but a giant battery jump starter was involved) and now it feels great to be installed in our home on wheels.
We also work when we travel, but being in the camper still gives us a bit of a ”vacation feeling.” We are grateful for this!
Your turn ... what are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
Now we continue traveling by campervan … sooo lovely! We have our sights set on the Göta Canal right now, and otherwise we'll take it as it comes. Here at FREEDOMtravel you can follow our journey, and you can also expect a really interesting report, by Jonathan Gharbi de Maré, about two French artist villages.
Now we would like to take this opportunity once again to wish you a really nice midsummer!

We also wish you a happy midsummer from Kedumsvik's campsite, a short distance from Lake Vänern!
It will be a quiet celebration, but the necessary attributes of food and accessories are of course included!

Wishing you a Happy Midsummer! Considering that summer starts today, I hope you don't have any more mishaps this year. Enjoy the nice weather (which we can at least enjoy here. Herring, pickled salmon and new potatoes are more than enough for a perfect Midsummer.
PS. I like the little flip-flops hanging from one of your bags on the train there ;-) DS.

I hope you had a nice midsummer and relaxed from work for a while.
It wouldn't be Midsummer without herring and potatoes, then we fill it up with other goodies, like salmon for example.
This week I am grateful for the days that have been summer, and for the life I live.

I celebrated midsummer in Zurich with my brother. We explored the city during the day and then went to a concert in the evening (Def Leppard). We met the drummer in the band in the city during the day and talked to him a bit and took some pictures with him. He was very nice. The concert was great. It was very hot in the city during the day, about 35 degrees Celsius. It was a fun trip.
