Two days, two manufacturers and a lot of motorhomes and caravans. We have been to press conferences at KABE and Adria to check out the news for the 2027 model year. Everything was on offer, from four-wheel drive and new technical solutions to small details that will make life in the motorhome a little easier.
We also got to go inside the KABE factory – a visit that gave us a whole new picture of how much craftsmanship actually goes into making a motorhome.

KABE 2027 – comfort, four-wheel drive and off-road package
KABE presents several new products for the 2027 model year. Some are about design and comfort, others about technology and function.

Fully integrated motorhome with four-wheel drive
The biggest single piece of news is that you can now get a fully integrated motorhome with four-wheel drive. For the 2027 model year, KABE is the only motorhome manufacturer to offer a fully integrated model with four-wheel drive, built on Mercedes-Benz's newly developed Sprinter chassis.

Off-road package for Crown and Imperial TRAQ 830 motorhomes
For fully integrated TRAQs, a new off-road package is also being launched with a powerful exterior design, roof bar with additional lights, and matte black aluminum wheels for an even more robust look. This package is also available for the Novum TRAQ 750 LGB.

More KABE news
KABE is launching many more exterior and interior innovations. Indus ECO toilet solution will be standard in Crown and Imperial. In the kitchen you can expect a larger sink with improved drainage. In addition, there will be semi-matte decals instead of high gloss, for an even more exclusive feel.

Strong focus on safety and year-round use
One thing that impressed us was KABE's great focus on safety. A fully or semi-integrated motorhome often consists largely of fiberglass, and you are quite vulnerable if an accident occurs. This is not something KABE leaves to chance, but instead focuses on:
- Battery protection – a strong metal container that secures the battery even under heavy stress.
- Folding table – the table top can be folded forward and increase safety for belted passengers.
- Steel construction in fully integrated motorhomes – protects in the event of a collision.
- Active safety to avoid accidents – Various advanced security systems,
We think it's really good that security is given so much space.
KABE also describes itself as a market leader in year-round use. The vehicles are exposed to temperatures from -35 to +55 to withstand all climatic conditions.

Lots of campers and caravans at Hooks Manor
The press preview included a presentation of all the news, and then we had the opportunity to walk around and look at the parked motorhomes and caravans.

Here are some pictures that show the feeling and the interiors. Stylish and cozy at the same time!

The press conference was arranged at the beautiful Hooks manor in Småland, where we also had the opportunity to enjoy a very tasty lunch.

It was also a very nice evening together with other motorhome journalists and digital creators. After a really good dinner, the evening got quite late…

The advantage was that we could walk to our camper in the evening. We spent the night in the camper, right next to the water at Hook's Manor. Not the worst place to wake up for the next day's camper scouting!

Adria 2027 – many small improvements
The next day it was time for Adria. Here the 2027 model year is not so much about any single major launch, but rather about a series of smaller improvements and a clearer model structure.
Easier to understand Adria's models
An important change is that Adria is simplifying both the model range and the names. The idea is to make it easier for customers to understand the differences between models and what is actually included.
Now there are levels Select and Supreme (where Supreme is the more luxurious version). In addition, you can choose the plus package which means a little extra. We really like this simplification!

News at Adria 2027
Adria is not presenting any revolutionary news this year, but rather a long series of small improvements and developments. One example is the new ”cap” made of EPP (expanded polypropylene), which means, among other things, lower weight, better insulation and noise reduction. The construction should also be easier to replace if damaged.

We drive an Adria motorhome ourselves (from 2007) and weI love really it. Of course, a lot has happened in the new vehicles, and it is exciting to look around them. Here are some pictures, from different motorhomes in different models and different price ranges, for inspiration,

This is how a KABE is built – almost entirely by hand
One of the most interesting parts of these two days wasn't actually any of the new models. It was getting to go inside the KABE factory and watch the manufacturing process.
What struck us most was how much is done by hand. This is far from a factory where robots do most of the work. Instead, motorhomes and caravans are built step by step, station by station. Walls, cabinets, installations, furnishings and lots of small details are assembled by people.

When you walk through the factory, it suddenly becomes very clear how complex a modern recreational vehicle actually is. It involves an incredible number of components that have to be built together and work together.

And yes – you also gain a little more understanding of both why a motorhome costs what it does and why sometimes errors can occur. There are simply a lot of parts and systems that coexist in a small space.

Only towards the end of the production line do you see how all that step by step has actually become a finished motorhome. Having followed the process from the beginning, we look at it with slightly different eyes – now we know how much is hidden behind the walls, cabinets and stylish surfaces.

Our impressions of KABE and Adria 2027
After two intense days, perhaps our strongest impression is that a new model year doesn't always have to mean major revolutions. At KABE, there's a really big news in the form of the four-wheel drive TRAQ, while much else is about smart improvements to things that are used every day.
At Adria, the changes are smaller, but many – and we especially like the ambition to make the model range easier to understand.
And after the factory visit at KABE, we probably also look at all these vehicles a little differently. Behind the shiny doors, large screens and stylish kitchens lies a surprisingly artisanal manufacturing process – and many, many details.

Monnah says:
I understand that it is exciting to follow the news as camper owners and travel bloggers! My German extra sister is going home today with her family and the new camper after a few weeks here at Sturkö Camping. The family is happy with the brand new camper in general, but they have found a lot of small errors that need to be fixed. As you write, it is easier to understand that errors can occur when it is so complicated, but it is still a bit sad to start the first trip by having to go to a mechanic because of error messages... (That was before they went on this trip.) I myself can understand the appeal of being able to take your home with you on vacation, even more so when, like this family, you drive in a camper + "regular" car to be able to be more flexible when you are in the same place for a longer period of time.

Krister Per Persson says:
There are still a lot of small defects on new motorhomes. You see dismantled roof lights, handles and various cupboard doors at dealers. You wonder, it's been like this for 30 years. You wonder why Toyota can't make motorhomes they do right from the start.
