We are back in Sweden, after a month of motorhome travel in Norway. Honestly, it felt a little sad to leave beautiful Norway, while the price situation in Sweden has certain advantages... We talk about our current trip and our immediate plans.
Table of contents
Värmland
Just before we traveled around Norway, we discovered Värmland. We managed to visit a bunch of places that were on our wish list, such as Marbacka, Rottneros Park and Lars Lerin Sandgrund. Now that we were ”done” with Norway, we rolled back into scenic Värmland, but without any major attractions on the to-do list. Instead, we planned to visit friends.

Meetings with friends
Smoked wild boar and game safari
First we visited friends we had met in the blogging world and had been in contact with for a very long time – maybe since the beginning of the blog. It was fantastic fun to finally see each other for real. On the menu was smoked wild boar meat (so good!) and then there was a "game safari" in the surrounding area.
During an evening drive we saw no less than 17 deer, 5 hares and 4 moose… When it got dark we had a thermal imaging camera to help us, which was incredibly fascinating. Imagine that there are so many wild animals out there – even if you don’t always see them!
Cooking and picking up supplies
The next day we went to the home of camper friends, who also live in Värmland. At their home we cooked together and had a long evening with lots of talking and laughing. The next morning it was time to load all the stuff into the camper that we had stored in our friends’ storage room – because we were afraid of driving overweight in the camper in Norway.

A break at home in the marina – with ”camping” in the parking lot
But should we drive with excess weight in the motorhome in Sweden then? No, of course not. We therefore decided to go home to the marina and unload some at home, before it was time to roll on again... Now we had a chance to look over the houseboat, while we each took the opportunity to take a long shower...

Did we sleep in the houseboat then? No, since we were only going to be home for one night, it felt cumbersome to pack clothes and groceries. Instead, we had to ”camp” in the camper in the marina. For us (who have residential parking), it works fine to sleep there for one night – we even have access to toilets and garbage disposal there.

On the way again
Now we are on our way again… but where? Our first destination is Tenhult where Kabe and Adria are arranging a press conference in connection with which they will show and talk about this year’s news. It should be exciting and interesting. After that it looks like we will be rolling towards the Swedish west coast…

This week: Grateful for ...
This week we are grateful to have met some great friends and to have many practical matters resolved. We are also grateful to have Peter's brother Micke with us in the camper again. Very nice!
Your turn ... What are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
During the coming week, we will have a press conference in Småland and then continue our journey in Småland and towards the West Coast. Here at FREEDOMtravel, there will be a few more reports from Norway before we will talk about motorhomes and Sweden, mixed with the fates and adventures of the guest writers.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a nice Friday and weekend!

Did you miss last Friday's blog? Read Now in Sweden... But so much to tell from Norway!

It wasn't a bad game drive. It was also fun to meet friends.
Today I'm grateful that I managed to make B5 a little less sad yesterday.
Have a nice weekend!

What wonderful weeks you have had in Norway but hopefully the summer is not over yet so you will have nice days on the west coast. This week we went for a long weekend to Öland and then we have done ground service at the grandsons at the same time as Laikan got a big wash both inside and out. At the beginning of next week we will also go to the west coast and good friends in Kungshamn before we finally get our leaking part replaced in Laikan. We wish you a nice weekend!

Home sweet home... even if it was only a short stop before you rolled on.
So nice to meet friends and go on a game drive. Four moose wasn't bad, I've felt lucky when I've seen one from the train window.

Yes, it was nice to see home! 🙂 We saw the animals from the car window mostly, but it was incredible to see so many wild animals at once. You really get the sense that they are out there! 🙂

I understand that you had a fantastic time in Noge. And if you don't have a camper or car, it still works fine to get around Norway by train (very convenient), bus, plane and boat. We have tested both the summer of 2025 and 2024 and also previously in different rounds.
Grateful for this week? A fantastic stay by the sea on Gotland with my daughter's family with nice excursions, good food and drink. My other daughter and grandchildren were also here. It was really nice to be here together. . When I asked my oldest grandchild of 16 what he thought was best, the answer was "to hang out." Delightful.

Sounds exciting to watch with a thermal camera, imagine if the animals were standing close by, then I would probably scream hahaha. Of course it's fine to live in the camper at home, we also do that if we come home in the evening and don't start bringing things in. Feels like the vacation continues in some way.
The best thing this week has been that we finally got the camper back from the workshop and that it's running well now.
Have a great time on the West Coast

I can't help but be a little jealous of those of you who continue to travel all year. Now, after traveling full-time for 2.5 months full-time, we're going to push ourselves back into the Svensson fold again with work and everyday life at home. Sob 🙂

Norway is wonderful, but a bit too expensive for many products.
Värmland, beautiful landscape. I was just talking to a friend in Karlstad and I got a longing for Värmland.
It looks like you had a great time and I wish you nice days ahead too!

You have really had a fantastic trip so I understand that you are satisfied. What nature and what views! I understand that it was not worth sleeping in the houseboat for one night.
I'm grateful for a fantastic week on the west coast 😀

How cool is a game safari with a thermal camera, the game probably sees more of us than we see the game,
I once heard about how often a car drives past a moose or deer where they are standing a bit into the forest, I don't remember how often it was but I was surprised how often it was anyway.
We see deer all the time here, but moose and wild boar are scarce.
I am grateful that my Romanian friends are here.
Hope you have a nice trip on the West Coast.
