Now we are in Sweden. We just drove across the border and it almost felt a bit … sad. We have had an incredibly nice trip in Norway, and it will take a while to digest all the impressions. We still have a lot left to tell you about!

A fantastic journey through Norway
The journey through Norway has really been fantastic. We had originally planned to travel through the whole of Norway, from north to south, but due to time and financial constraints we chose to only do the southern parts. In hindsight we are very pleased: this part of Norway is incredibly beautiful and dramatic.
We haven't had time to tell you everything yet, but more reports are coming. The picture shows roughly how we traveled – from north to south. Here you can find the report:
- Vestre Sorken Holiday Farm
- Vinnufossen
- Atlantic Road
- Troll's Path
- Geirangerfjord
- Old Strynefjell Road
- Sognefjord
- Voss – with waterfalls
- Hardangerfjord
- The Pulpit Rock
- Dirdalstraen Farm Shop

We have of course experienced a little more than we have yet to tell you about. We have visited beautiful Grimstad, stayed overnight on a cozy farmhouse and discovered three fantastic campsites in Telemark – where we also explored the incredibly beautiful Telemark Canal.

We will tell you more as soon as we have time. The following photos are from the trip home to Sweden. It was rainy and gray, but we had some nice views.

Leaving Norway felt sad in many ways. We have become incredibly fond of the nature, the tranquility, the dramatic views, and even the beautiful language. If there is one thing we can long for in Sweden, it is the prices – because yes, almost everything is more expensive in Norway.

Back in Sweden
So we are back in Sweden now. We drove into Sweden and ended up in Töcksfors. This is a relatively small town, but the proximity to the border means that several large stores have sprung up here – so that Norwegians can shop cheaply.

We have not been to these border towns before and were fascinated by the huge selection of frozen meats and chocolates in mega-boxes. There are (at least) two candy stores that are bigger than a regular grocery store. Yes, this was fascinating to us!

This week: Grateful for ...
We are grateful that, against all odds, we managed to complete this year's trip through Norway. We were worried about both weight restrictions and increased costs, but we did our best to meet the conditions ... and it went well! It feels amazing to have seen so many beautiful places in Norway. We will be happy to come back!
Your turn ... What are you grateful for this week?

The week ahead
Now what? We'll be in Sweden and we have a lot of plans. We're going to meet friends, pick up stuff, drop off stuff in Stockholm, pick up Peter's brother and drive down to Småland for a press conference. Yes, it's going to be quite busy!
We would now like to wish you a continued nice Friday and weekend!

A truly wonderful trip and Norway is extraordinarily beautiful.
I hope you get more opportunities to travel in Norway because there is just as much beauty left to see and experience. Not least Lofoten and the entire coastal road up via Tromsø, North Cape and to Kirkenes. Both along the coast and inland.
Maybe you take a boat trip from Bergen up to Kirkenes. You can get on and off as you like if you don't take a cruise. But then you are more limited in terms of time and stay in different places.
Have a great time in Sweden.

Yes, we really liked Norway so it's not impossible that it will happen more times, in which case maybe upwards instead. But it probably won't happen next year. Then we have other plans 😉

What a wonderful trip you had in beautiful Norway despite a lot of setbacks before you left. We had probably planned to spend this week at home but then the weekend weather looked pretty decent so after a visit to the dentist and optician on Thursday we released the handbrake and rolled towards Öland. Now we hope the winds calm down a bit until tomorrow.. What are we grateful for? For example, that we have the privilege of being able to live this simple life in Laikan as long as possible…

Welcome back from your trip to Norway, where I've only skimmed through some posts, a bit quickly. I'll read them afterwards because Norway is certainly a beautiful country, but the prices are higher there.
The past week has been a mixed bag. A nice wedding last weekend in Umeå to our camper breaking down on the E4 south of Umeå. Nice to have friends we could stay with for two nights. Right now we are spending the weekend in the garage parking lot, got loaner bikes so we can explore Umeå a little easier. Have a nice weekend.

Wedding sounds wonderful! But so sad that the camper broke down. .... Hope it's something that can be fixed quickly and easily!

How nice that you are so happy with the Norway trip. Those candy stores – oh – feel like a utopia, here in PT you have to look for candy if you want it and it's not very good either. So it's good that we can buy Swedish candy online 🙂
