What can you do in Norrbotten and what can you see and experience? Honestly, we do not know as much as we would like, and we have only been in Norrbotten for about 7-10 days and we have not seen much. We know what we want to see and we need time and here is the list!

  • Proper Pitepalt in Piteå is a must and is served in most restaurants daily.
  • Flavour Kalix with the fantastic onion roe
  • Pick field berries, cloudberries and make a vanilla panna cotta with extra of everything with these exotic berries.
  • Treehotel in little Harads 4 miles north-west of Boden.
  • Eat coffee cheese (kahvijuusto in Meänkieli) with cloudberry jam.
  • Experience the midnight sun at midsummer when you have the sun up all 24 hours.
  • Sweden's northernmost cathedral in Luleå is a must-see.

  • Lules archipelago with over 1000 islands
  • The Nolia Fair with more than 100,000 visitors every year where you can find everything!
  • The open-air village Hägnan where everything used to be just next to Gammelstad church town is a day trip on your holiday in Sweden.
  • Cape wild with domesticated elk and reindeer
  • Six forts in Boden that are part of Sweden's defence against the enemy.
  • Haparanda Archipelago National Park where you can experience the gems of the northernmost parts of the archipelago.
