In co-operation with Il Cantico Della Natura
Curious about an organic holiday in Italy? We spent two days relaxing at an eco-resort in Umbria. This is a tip for those who are travelling by car, or for those who are flying and can consider renting a car locally. We've found a place where you can really slow down and relax!

At Lago di Trasimeno in Umbria
Umbria is a region in the central part of Italy, and in the north-western part of this region lies Lake Trasimeno. This lake is the fourth largest lake in Italy, and around it there are plenty of resorts, campsites and charming marinas.
Ecological holidays in Italy
If you want to enjoy a relaxing and ecological holiday in Italy, Umbria is the place to be! Here the landscape is green, the olive groves are dense and you feel like you're in genuine Italy, in a way we've never experienced anywhere else in this country.
The ecological resort Il Cantico Della Natura is located high on a hill on the eastern side of Lake Trasimeno. It overlooks both the lake and the green valleys.
Rooms with a rustic Italian feel
The hotel opened in 2003, after four years of renovation. At that time there were only a few rooms, but every winter they have been able to complete a few more. There are now 18 unique rooms at Il Cantica Della Natura, all with a genuine Italian feel.
The rooms have beautiful walls, cool bathroom solutions and, in many cases, stunning views through the windows. You can choose the suites for the most rustic luxury and mesmerising views, but even the smaller rooms offer authenticity and tranquillity.
SPA
There is also a small but very cosy spa at the hotel. Here you have access to a whirlpool and two different types of sauna.
Pool with magical views
The pool at Il Cantico Della Natura has a truly magical view. It looks out over the green fields and Lake Trasimeno. Since the hotel is so small, it is not too crowded either. We spent many pleasant hours here!
Organic products
The resort is affiliated with EcoWorldHotel.com, which means it is committed to caring for nature in various ways. They also sell organic products from nearby farms, such as jams, honey and olive oil.
Cosy restaurant
The resort of course has a restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For lunch, you can have anything from pasta to light meals, such as prosciutto with melon. For dinner, you can either order the 4-course menu of the day or choose freely from an a la carte menu. For those who are vegetarian, vegan or allergic, options are available.
Adapting to Italian habits, we had a late meal by the pool of truffle pasta and red wine. It doesn't get much better than that, does it?
Lovely nature around the resort
The whole resort is surrounded by beautiful nature. The crickets play loudly in the bushes and the butterflies flutter around you as you walk the paths in the area. The lizards scurry among the rocks and we also saw the occasional rabbit.
Just outside reception, there's an adorable little "hotel area" with hotel rooms for different types of birds and insects, including suites, a bar and a pub....
The perfect place to relax
This eco-resort in Umbria must surely be the perfect place for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. The go as well as not feeling stressed in this environment. If you're hanging around the hotel, you don't have to do much more than lounge by the pool or maybe read a good book in a hammock. If you want to be more active, you can of course take the car down to Lake Trasimeno, or perhaps go hiking or horseback riding, as there is a horse farm nearby.
Find here?
Il Cantico Della Natura is located in Montesperello in Magione in Umbria. The address is Case Sparse 50, Montesperello of Perugia Magione, but if you have trouble finding it when you set it on the GPS (we did!) you can just set it to Montesperello. Once you get there, there are clear signs showing you the rest of the way. Then just enjoy your holiday in Italy!

What a wonderful place. The film with Italian music made me feel at home.
I see the genuine Italian influence when Peter looks genuinely Italian wearing a hat and dark glasses.

What an amazing place! WOW! You couldn't have found a better place to take a break from motorhome life. The hotel is absolutely wonderful, so deliciously luxurious and yet charming. The first thing I thought of is the Paradors that AMA usually writes about, but your hotel was a bit sharper;-)

Had written a long comment that disappeared....What a lovely place. Completely in my taste to spend a couple of nights here. Decent price level it was, about 2000 sek for a regular double room / night with breakfast.
Great pictures! And it's these places that really are the treats. And if I could wish, I would only want to live like this. Thanks for the tip.
Keep up the good work.
