We have finally got round to getting new headlights for the motorhome. We have been warned at the inspection several times because of scratched glass, and we have noticed ourselves that it shines poorly through the glass. Now we have finally bought and fitted new headlights.

Headlights with scratched glass
The problem is that the glass has become very scratched over the years. We have noticed that the light shining through the glass is not very good, and this has also been pointed out when we have had the motorhome inspected. Even though it has passed the inspections, we felt that we had to do something about it soon.
We have tried several times to clean it, using cleaning products and cloths that we bought at Biltema, but it has only helped a little bit. Now one of the lamps broke, and instead of just replacing the broken lamp, we felt it was time to do something about the problem seriously ...!

New headlights
Peter ordered new headlights online, from a company called AutoDoc. We have ordered tyres from this company before and they actually advertise on our home page, for several years now. However, this was not a co-operation, but we simply ordered as usual via their website.
To get headlights that fit, you have to fill in the make and model of the motorhome. After a few days, we were able to pick up the parcels at the nearest parcel delivery point.

Purchase of lamps
The package didn't include any lamps, so even before Peter started assembling, lamps had to be purchased. We opened the packages and carefully read the headlight to see which lamps it would be, and then we bought these at Jula.
Installation of headlights
Now it was time for assembly! Or rather, it was. First the old headlights had to be removed. Peter opened the bonnet and unscrewed the old headlights.

New headlights in place
Once the old headlights were gone, it was time to install the new ones.

Once everything was in place, it was time to test that the lights were working. To our relief, everything lit up as it should. Perfect, now we have new nice headlights that shine as they should!

As usual impressed with your expertise Peter. Need I say we have had the same problem? We are running many workshops with our 2012 Dethleff. 😉
Who will soon go on a long roll.

Well done, Peter, handy man! It's usually a misery as soon as something like that has to be changed on a person - or motorhome....

So good to be able to change them yourself. Can feel we would need to change on the passenger car...
