- Naples - Intense, messy and loud. Passionate - absolutely. Romantic? Not always!

reflection of the week
Semlor can cost a lot, especially if you buy them at a bakery. Personally, I think the flavour is more important than the size though. A few years ago we did a semmel test ourselves in Stockholm: Facts about semlor, semlor trends and semlor tests!

It's hard to believe that we suddenly became trendy when we happened to spend Valentine's Day in Seville, which ended up on the list of the most romantic cities. It was a city that really appealed to us, absolutely wonderful with many cool sights. I can't believe tomorrow is Fat Tuesday. Lars likes semlor but I want mine homemade because I don't like bought almond paste and just want a little cream. This year we will be without both one and the other but it will probably be good anyway!

Brussels, well then you wonder what it is that is so boring. I myself am more than happy to go there, especially to the older parts and what is beyond the tourist traps.
Semla, yes please, on Thursday when I come to Sweden

We also like Brussels. Have only been there once, but we had a very good experience!

As for Milan, many people fly there to go skiing in the Italian Alps. And now that it is oS, it may also attract. The fact that many Swedes choose warmth instead of cold may also be because those trips can be cheaper. A ski trip for one week per person in the Swedish mountains during the sports holidays, including accommodation, food, ski hire, lift passes etc. costs at least 10,000 per person. If you stay in a hotel, even more. Then there is the cost of travelling. In the Alps you will probably have to add another 5000 SEK. So there is no shortage of money when it comes to travelling.

Helena says:
Certainly it is true that ski holidays can be more expensive. Good input!

Berlin and Munich are Germany's coolest cities - in my opinion. Birmingham is underrated. The city's canal system with the canal boats can be much more romantic than a cruise ship to Finland;-)
As for semlor, I completely agree with you. I don't even like those building-sized buns with a lot of almond paste that I don't even eat...

How exciting about the unromantic cities! Two of them have been really lovely experiences for me - Naples is not my favourite city, but we had a very romantic trip there (with a connection to Capri, which has romance in abundance) and in Birmingham I had the best Indian meal I've ever had. But generally I understand that there is a reason why a city is perceived as cool, romantic, fun or whatever. Fun post, by the way.
