Beaches in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt
There are many different beaches in Sharm el Sheikh, and it was difficult to keep track of them all in one week, but we still managed to see a bunch. Our hotel, Il Mercato, which was not on a beach, provided buses to four different beaches. In addition, we went on our own (or with a driver) to a few others.
We generally think the beaches on the southern Sinai Peninsula are nice. In some places it was perhaps a little coarse-grained sand and a little rocky on the bottom, so it can definitely help with bathing shoes sometimes. Most amazing is that you can snorkel over fantastic coral reefs in many places, directly from the beaches. Here are 10 great beaches in Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
1. El fanar
El Fanar is one of the beaches that can be reached by bus from our hotel. Il Mercato. This is a relatively small, but very beautiful beach located below a hotel and a restaurant. Here a long jetty goes out into the sea and there are great opportunities for snorkelling. We saw colourful fish everywhere, just by looking from the jetty. If you are not staying at the hotel, you have to pay a small fee to sunbathe and swim here.
2. adrenaline beach
Adrenalin Beach is a really cool beach in Sharm el Sheikh, overlooking the Saudi Arabian island of Jazirat Tiran. Here you'll find a relaxed atmosphere with a beach bar and soft beach sofas under a thatched roof. There are also plenty of opportunities for water sports, such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, banana boat, wakeboarding and ziplining. You can also stay overnight in one of the small beach huts. We want to do that next time - how cosy must that be?
3. Naama Bay
Naama Bay is one of the larger beaches in Sharm el Sheikh, with a long, bright and beautiful sandy beach. Large parts of the beach belong to different hotels, but there is also a smaller part where you can pay for a sunbed. In addition, some of the hotels let visitors in for a fee. There are also great opportunities for snorkelling!
4. Eden Ibiza Beach
Eden Ibiza Beach is one of the beaches that the hotel Il Mercato took a bus to. The bus was free when you stayed at the hotel, and you then had to pay 3 USD for a day at the beach, including a water bottle. We did not have time for this beach ...
5th Palma Beach
Palma Beach is also one of the beaches that the hotel Il Mercato drives to. Here you also had to pay 3 USD, but here you got four bottles of soda in the price. We didn't have time for this beach either ...
6. reef beach
Reef Beach is the fourth beach that could be accessed via the shuttle bus at Il Mercato hotel. Visiting this beach was completely free, at least as a resident of Il Mercato. But no, we didn't make it here either ...
7. The beach in Ras Mohammed National Park
Visiting Ras Mohammed National Park is an experience. Many people come here for snorkelling or diving, and you can also spend the night under the stars at the national park's small campsite. And of course there is a nice little beach!
8. Shark's Bay
Throughout our stay in Sharm el Sheikh we heard about Shark's Bay, which is supposed to be really nice. There are both hotels and a public beach that can be used for a small fee. The snorkelling here is said to be fantastic.
9. Nabq Bay
Nabq Bay is located not far from Sharks Bay in Sharm el Sheikh, overlooking the Saudi Arabian island of Jazirat Tiran. For those who wish, you can try out various water sports here.
10. Hyatt Beach
Last but not least, we can't help but list the beach at the 5-star Hyatt Regency hotel in Sharm el Sheikh (top image in the post). The beach may only be used by hotel guests, but it is nonetheless stunningly beautiful. There is a long floating jetty, and snorkelling from here is an experience. You snorkel just above the reefs, which are filled with fish of different colours and shapes. Just above the beach there is also a string of beautiful pools.

Interesting to note - No colours on the parasols;
all are sandy or grey in colour. I wonder why?
Camoflage?

Yes, but you're right, I haven't really thought about that! I don't know, but they all belonged to the hotels (so no private parasols), so maybe just a design thing?

I think I also react to the names of the beaches, like Adrenalin, Eden Ibiza and Palma. That way you don't have to crowd any of the beaches.

So interesting to see what everyone reacts to! 😉 I also reacted to adrenaline. There was a guy who had that beach (had bought a beach strip from the state) and invested in various water sports, so guess the name came from there 😉 And you are absolutely right! There is plenty of space everywhere! Tourism is slowly but surely increasing, but they still have the potential to receive many more. But quite nice to avoid being crowded! 🙂
