Right now we are rolling through Norway with the camper, among fjords, mountain roads, waterfalls and small places that we barely knew existed before we came here. And at the same time, we are slowly starting to prepare for this autumn's big camper event – Elmia Husvagn Husbil in Jönköping.
The fair will take place from September 9-13, 2026, and FREEDOMtravel will be there again this year. We will also be taking to the stage to talk about one of our favorite things: traveling by motorhome!
Table of contents
Motorhome trip in Norway – our recent experiences
Norway could hardly be more relevant to us. As we write this, we are in the middle of a long motorhome trip through the country, where we have experienced everything from Atlantic Road and Troll's Path to Geirangerfjord, Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord. Norway is truly a fantastic country!
At Elmia, we share our experiences from the trip – about the roads, the nature experiences and the gems along the way, but also about what it's actually like to travel through Norway by motorhome, in practical terms.
We will tell you about ferries, tunnels, overnight stays, prices, border regulations and just about anything else you might be wondering about.

Gold for the motorhome in Sweden
Of course, you don't have to travel far to find fantastic motorhome experiences. Over the years, we have travelled all over the Sweden and have collected a long list of favorites – from well-known destinations to small places that surprised us along the way.
During one of our lectures, we highlight some of our Swedish gems and give tips on experiences that are particularly well suited to discovering by motorhome.
Don't forget to vote too Destination of the Year Sweden 2026 – you can help choose this year's travel destination for us with a camper/caravan and at the same time you have a chance to win exhibition tickets!

Traveling through Europe by motorhome
What's it like to go on a longer motorhome trip in EuropeWhich countries are easy to travel to, what do you need to consider and what experiences have we had along the way?
Europe has been our playing field for many years, and at Elmia we talk about both the opportunities and the practicalities – and of course about some of the experiences that await beyond Sweden's borders.
In fact, we've driven through a whole bunch of countries in a camper van over the years:
- Albania
- Belgium
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Estonia
- Finland
- France
- Greece
- Ireland
- Italy
- Croatia
- Latvia
- Montenegro
- Northern Ireland
- North Macedonia
- Norway
- Poland
- Portugal
- Switzerland
- Slovenia
- Spain
- Czech Republic
- Germany
- Hungary
- Austria

Please come and say hello!
We will be at Elmia Husvagn Husbil during the fair days and of course hope to meet many of you who usually follow our trips - or discuss with us - here at FREEDOMtravel and on our social channels.
Please come by when we are giving lectures – and if you see us anywhere at the fairgrounds, please come up and say hello. It's always extra nice to see a face we may have spoken to!

I'm a little excited about that fair. We don't have a camper now, but it's definitely something I want. My husband has been nagging me about it for years, but I've said no. After following you and Jikitas on adventures, I'm so excited.

I understand that it's hard to know if you like it or not, unless you've tried it. One option could be to rent a campervan for a holiday trip, to try it out!
