At last we can get the motorhome in order! The side of the garage that we turned into a "technical room" has been crammed with tools, hoses, cans and rubbish in a mess ... Not much fun to drive around with. And completely hopeless to find. Now things have changed!

Organising your campervan with a shelving system

We have bought a shelf system from Ikea, with several large drawers, and now we hope that the motorhome will be organised. We have of course had to screw the shelf system firmly to the walls so that it doesn't move when we drive. We have also chosen not to use the bottom drawers - we need space for things that are too heavy to be placed in boxes, such as electrical equipment and petrol cans.

Our technical room in the garage now has plenty of storage space and is easier to keep organised than before. Here we store, among other things, levelling blocks, electrical equipment, water hoses and various tools that can be useful when travelling.

Securing things while travelling

We have bought an extra canister for diesel and an extra canister for petrol (for the power plant). We have also bought four lightweight aluminium chairs from Jysk, which incredibly found room to be fastened along one wall in the technical room. With the help of spindles, they stand completely still against the wall while travelling.

Now all that's missing is a table. We also need some straps, or spindles, to secure the boxes while travelling. Otherwise they'll probably open at every turn... Soon we'll be ready to leave!
