Northern Sweden offers some of the country's most magnificent natural experiences - from mountains and open spaces to deep forests and dramatic landscapes.

Abisko

Abisko in Swedish Lapland is one of the country's most spectacular natural destinations, known for its vast mountain landscapes and clear air.

During the winter, Abisko is one of the best places in Sweden to see the Northern Lights, thanks to its stable climate and often cloudless skies. It is also home to Abisko National Park, which offers easily accessible wilderness all year round. Don't miss:

Småland offers deep forests, lakes and classic Swedish environments. Kingdom of glass is one of our personal favorites and there is also a long tradition of glass craftsmanship here, where you can visit glassworks and see how glass is shaped on site.

In Småland there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, moose watching, swimming and quiet days in nature. Don't miss:

The west coast – archipelago and salty seas

When we have the choice, we like to visit the Swedish west coast – especially in the summer when the coast and islands are at their very best.

Bohuslän

Bohuslän is one of our absolute favorites in Sweden, and we return here time and time again. Here you will find smooth granite cliffs, picturesque fishing villages and an archipelago that stretches along the entire west coast, offering new views behind every cape.

This part of Sweden is great for sunbathing and swimming, boat trips, kayaking and visiting various islands. Here are some of our favorites:

• Orust – lovely island with cliffs, coves and islets
• Koster Islands – car-free archipelago with crystal clear water

Varberg

Varberg is one of the west coast's most popular summer towns, known for its beaches, cold bathhouses and relaxed atmosphere. The town also has a long history as a health resort, which means you can also come here for wellness and spa treatments.

This Halland gem is perfect for those who want to sunbathe, swim or surf, but also for those who are interested in history. Don't miss:
