Ukrainian fast food - a visit to Puzata Hata

We've become completely enamoured with Ukrainian fast food! In Ukraine there is a domestic fast food chain called Puzata Hata. You take a tray and then pick small dishes from a lot of counters with pots and pans. Then you go to the checkout and pay for what you've picked. So simple, so cheap and so good!

Perfect break

We spend quite a bit of time shopping in Kievbecause shopping here is so much fun. But after a few hours in the shops you get hungry. Now we have found the absolutely optimal place to have lunch.

Puzata Hata serves Ukrainian fast food, but even though it's simple, we've been hooked. Not only is it insanely cheap, but it's also incredibly tasty. After a lunch break at our new favourite place, we are ready for a few more rounds in the shops. We eat here every lunch when we are in Kiev and there are several Puzata Hata everywhere.

Ukrainian fast food - tasty and cheap

We really like Puzata Hata! When you enter, you take a tray and then just pick what you want from a long counter with everything from cold to hot snacks, which you can combine as you wish.

The small dishes counter is huge and you can find all kinds of things: soups, creamy salads, pies, meat dishes, fish dishes, potatoes, vegetables and pastries. It's simple and hearty food, but it almost always tastes good. Our favourites are the delicious soups, creamy salads and pies.

The tray is taken to a cash register where you pay for what you have picked up. A lunch consisting of soup, salad, pirogue and a large strong drink costs about 35 Swedish kronor. Not too hard.
